As netizens since 1995, we Executives have had to reinvented the wheel way too many times.  And by "we" I mean me.  So, occasionally, we draft Important Documents so that we can find information again next time without having to spend hours looking for it all over again.

Except, however, it somehow seems just as difficult to find info right here in the Executive Technical Manual as it is to find it on the web in general.  Imagine our surprise (and by "our" I mean "me") when we google for things we can't remember and find it here in the official Executive Technical Manual.

If you are here, I imagine you did too.  Sort of.  Or probably not what you were looking for but you are here anyway.

Thank you for visiting and have a pleasant tomorrow.

P.S.  -- if you find the Executive Technical Manual disjointed, hard to follow and having many references to Joomla, well, that is because we started with the Joomla sample pages and occasionally edit one of them to say something useful to our purposes here.  And, otherwise, the original sample pages remain.  But why not?  Joomla deserves some credit, after all ...

This Executive Technical Manual began life as a "TikiWiki" using the, um... TikiWiki software. But, we did not like the TikiWiki editor; and also, although Joomla is designed with a different feature set, it seemed to fit our goals better than true "Wiki"software.

As far as "editors" go, we use Xinha via the Firefox Xinha Here addon.  Joomla has a wysiwyg editor, too, but we inadvertently turned it off at install and it has not turned back on even though we changed the parameter to the "TinyMice" editor from "none" anyway.  (But, the intent was to use Xinha, which is why we installed with the "none" option.)  In Joomla, unlike in TikiWiki, the html editing created by Xinha is properly preserved, which makes it easy to adopt parts of these pages for other uses on our website.

Oh, yeah -- the ETM name?  "TikiWiki" sounded silly to us. "Executive Technical Manual" sounds suitably lofty and arrogant, applying appropriate spin to dress up a lot of incomplete and poorly explained info.

The truth is ... Mostly we post this info so we can find it again when we need it. If someone else finds a hint that is useful, We hope we have been a bit of help. (Also, if you find an error or wish to offer a more complete explanation for something, feel free to send us an email.)
